About Dr Kinzel

Dr Vera Kinzel is an orthopaedic surgeon with a special interest in Knee, Shoulder, Elbow, and Trauma surgery for the adult and paediatric population.


Dr Kinzel graduated from the prestigious medical school of Münster in Germany, where she also obtained a PhD in medicine. After obtaining her medical degree, Dr Kinzel moved to the UK, where she completed her surgical training at the Royal College of Surgeons of England and the Royal College of Surgeons of Ireland. She then moved to Australia, where she was selected for the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons Advanced Training Program in Orthopaedic Surgery.


After completing her specialist training in Orthopaedics & Trauma in 2009, Dr Kinzel went further and sub-specialised in Knee and Sports Medicine and did a one-year fellowship at the North Sydney Orthopaedics and Sports Medicine Centre and the Sydney Orthopaedic Research Institute. She then completed a further fellowship in Shoulder surgery in Hamilton, New Zealand. This has given her the opportunity to work with some of the world's most well-known orthopaedic surgeons.


Dr Kinzel has a strong interest in research and development and has published numerous papers in Knee, Trauma and upper limb surgery. Her work has been presented at both national and international meetings. Throughout her working and training career, Dr Kinzel has worked in hospitals in England, South Africa, the USA, Canada, Israel, New Zealand and Germany, which gave her a broad foundation of orthopaedic surgery.
